»Ministry Handbook«

As St. Paul said to the Corinthians, each individual has a unique gift that he or she is able to offer. The many ministries in the parish have come from an idea or an inspiration and are gifts to the parish. God has a plan for you! If you do not see what the Lord is telling you in this ministry handbook, please submit your ideas or plans in writing and submit them to Father Donnelly or the parish office.

Commissions and Ministries submit your bulletin announcements by e-mail to bulletin@iccmadison.com or to the Parish Office in writing by 12:00pm on the Monday prior to the publication date.

Sacristan

Duties include preparing the altar for Mass and cleaning the altar following Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion  is an acolyte or another member of the Christian faithful designated by the bishop to distribute Holy Communion. We use extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion when the ordinary ministers are impeded from administering Communion because of another pastoral ministry, ill-health, or old age; whenever the number of faithful wishing to receive Communion is so great that the celebration of Mass or the giving of Communion outside Mass would take too long.  Diocesan  training is required.

Flowers and Grounds

Volunteers who care for and beautify the grounds and church.

Welcoming

Parish volunteers who warmly welcome parishioners as they enter the Church for Mass.

Finance Council

Advises the Pastor on financial matters of the parish and school. Responsible for monitoring all income and expenses, and approving the annual budgets.

Offertory Counters

A group that counts the funds collected at Mass each week. Each group volunteers about once a month.

Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body which makes recommendations to the Pastor.  The Pastor is to consult with the Parish Pastoral Council on matters of major pastoral concern.  The Council’s recommendations deal with pastoral plans and policies.  A pastoral plan or policy sets a basic direction and selects the basic strategies to promote this direction; provides a guide for future actions, particularly in areas that have a broad impact on parish life; and provides clear direction while allowing room for creative, flexible action by those who will implement the policies.

Men’s Group

The Men of the Parish are invited to participate in the Men's Fellowship Program. Participants share scripture, join together in prayer and learn more about our faith. Men are welcome to attend as often as they are available, with no commitment to attend subsequent meetings. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:45pm to 9:00pm in the Library of the Parish Center. Please contact Shawn Douglas at (440) 537-0356 or Casey Merrill at (440) 812-1266 with questions.

"There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone."

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Stewardship Prayer:  Loving God, I come to you in thanksgiving, knowing that all I am and all that I have is a gift from you. In faith and love, help me to do your will. I am listening Lord God. Speak your words into the depth of my soul, that I may hear you clearly. I offer to you this day all the facets of my life, whether it be at home, at work, or at school - to be patient, to be merciful, to be generous, to be holy. Give me the wisdom and insight to understand your will for me and fervor to fulfill my good intentions. I offer my gifts of time, talent and possessions to you as a true act of faith, to reflect my love for you and my neighbor. Help me to reach out to others, as you my God, have reached out to me. Amen
